Yvonne & The Riffs

...more than just a tasty lick

Yvonne & The Riffs began in 2003 when vocalist Yvonne and her husband, bassist Pete Way, formed the band while living in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Joined by a group of talented friends, they quickly became a popular act, performing at gigs and corporate events throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

After moving to Cambridge, Ontario, in 2008, Yvonne and Pete pursued other musical projects before reuniting the band with a fresh lineup in 2012. The new chapter included the addition of acclaimed Kitchener guitarist Rob Gies, whose exceptional talent helped shape the band's evolving sound.

In April 2023, tragedy struck when Pete, Yvonne's partner of 44 years and the founding force behind The Riffs, passed away unexpectedly due to complications following cancer surgery.

To say the band was devastated would be an understatement. Yet through their shared love of music, they have continued forward, finding healing while honouring Pete's memory with every performance.

Today, Yvonne and Rob perform regularly as a duo and are joined by core members Luigi Falbo on drums and percussion and Fyl Bennett on bass whenever the opportunity arises. Together, they continue to bring the energy and spirit of Yvonne & The Riffs to audiences across the region.

Based in Waterloo Region, Yvonne & The Riffs have entertained audiences as a duo, trio, and full four-piece band for more than two decades. Showcasing Yvonne's powerful vocals, the band delivers an engaging mix of classic rock, Motown, pop, and crowd favourites, demonstrating their versatility, musicianship, and professionalism.

Above all, Yvonne & The Riffs are a group of great friends united by their passion for music and their love of performing.
